Terms of Service

1. Agreement to terms

By accessing or using Built in Baltics ("the Platform") at builtinbaltics.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
• One account per person. Automated or bot accounts are not permitted.
• You may delete your account at any time via Settings > Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from the Platform.

4. User content

"User Content" means any text, images, links, or other material you post on the Platform (projects, discussions, events, comments, collaboration posts, profile information).

• Ownership. You retain ownership of your User Content. By posting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and promote your content within and in connection with the Platform.
• Responsibility. You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that you have the right to post it and that it does not violate any third-party rights.
• Removal. You may edit or delete your content at any time. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post spam, misleading content, or unsolicited promotions
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
• Upload malware, viruses, or any harmful code
• Scrape, crawl, or access the Platform via automated means beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, systems, or data
• Use the Platform for any illegal activity
• Post content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without prior notice.

6. Connections and messaging

The Platform allows you to send connection requests to other users with an optional message. By using this feature, you agree to communicate respectfully and not use it for unsolicited commercial messages or harassment.

7. Events

Users may list community events on the Platform. Built in Baltics is not the organiser of third-party events and is not responsible for event content, cancellations, or any real-world outcomes of attendance. Promo codes displayed on the Platform are provided by event organisers.

8. Intellectual property

The Platform's design, code, brand, logo, and original content are owned by Built in Baltics and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform without our written permission.

9. Third-party links

The Platform contains links to external websites and services (project URLs, event pages, social profiles). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of these third-party resources.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not endorse or verify the accuracy of any User Content, including project claims, event details, or collaboration offers.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Built in Baltics and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities.

12. Moderation

We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove any content and to suspend or terminate any account at our discretion for violations of these Terms. Moderation decisions are final but may be appealed by contacting us at info@builtinbaltics.com.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Riga, Latvia, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
